Elementary Room Parents: Elementary room parents typically sign up during the first few weeks of school at the selection by the elementary principal. Per the Room Parent Handbook, they facilitate the teacher’s and school’s communication with families and enrich the classroom experience by organizing class celebrations and events as determined by the teacher.
Room parents are an integral part of the Mustang Support Organization as they assist in getting out communications to parents, recruiting classroom volunteers, and organizing the teacher & staff luncheon when it is their grade-level’s turn. At the luncheon, the MSO will provide a main dish and the room parents across the grade level will organize to compile sides, treats, and drinks contributed by families. To help you in this role, the MSO collaborated with the administration to write this handbook: FSAPS Room Parent Handbook 2022 – 2023
Middle & High School Social Committees: New this year, the Mustang Support Group has asked for middle and high school parents to organize as grade-level social committies and to manage MSO supported social events, such as student nights out at local venues or restaurants, middle school dances, high school homecoming, etc. If you are interested in planning these fun events, please complete our volunteer form so we can contact you as they come up!
